BroadWare and Geometrix Partner on Integrated Network Video, Facial Recognition

Partnership to Facilitate Distributed Facial Recognition Systems Utilizing High-Quality Network Video

CUPERTINO, Calif. – March 1, 2005, – BroadWare Technologies, Inc., the pioneer in distributed video surveillance, announced today a partnership with Geometrix, the leader in 3-D facial recognition. As part of the agreement, BroadWare will provide network video infrastructure to enable distributed facial recognition systems.

“Our goal is to marry BroadWare’s strength in distributed video with Geometrix’s strength in 3-D facial recognition,” said Bill Stuntz, CEO of BroadWare Technologies, Inc. “This is a complementary technology partnership that will lead to new advanced security applications for network video and facial recognition.”

The Geometrix FaceVision™ Identity Management System combines the security of finger, hand and iris methods with the convenience, throughput and ubiquity of facial recognition. The FaceVision product line consists of enrollment, identification, infrastructure, and application modules that sense and compare the unique 3D shapes of human faces.

BroadWare provides an open standards based platform for distributing visual intelligence in the best format over IP networks. This is a key enabling technology for Geometrix, as they deploy next-generation facial recognition systems that require high-quality video from remote locations and for offsite analysis.
