BroadWare for Transportation

Better insight into our transportation infrastructure can improve its effectiveness and provide a tool in times of emergency.

The Challenge

The challenge is to reduce traffic congestion and to improve road safety. According to the U.S. General Accounting Office, traffic congestion results in a national productivity loss of $100 billion annually. Additionally, surface transportation accounts for more than 90% of all transportation related fatalities.

The Solution

The solution to reducing traffic congestion and improving road safety starts by bringing live video from hundreds of highway and street cameras to traffic management centers, emergency response teams, public agencies, and commuters. BroadWare fulfills this need today.

Through a web browser or an integrated ITS traffic management center application, BroadWare offers a highly scalable and reliable platform for building network-based video applications. The BroadWare Media Server distributes, stores, and manages video from hundreds of cameras to multiple locations, including any monitor, PC, laptop, or video wall connected to the network. The BroadWare Media Server also provides the functionality to archive video for studying traffic patterns and monitoring road construction and repairs.
